Technology & Innovation Director – Huntsman – Everberg – Belgium

Huntsman is recruiting an experienced and passionate Technology & Innovation Director to lead their European Product Innovation Team and to drive their R&D function into more downstream marketing line with global divisional and corporate strategies. Reporting to the Vice President of Technology & Innovation you will play a key role in defining and driving their R&D strategy within the core business of their Polyurethanes Division whilst working in partnership with Marketing and Core R&D to commercialize new products to support downstream diversification initiatives.

As a key member of the Global Technology Leadership Team you will play a critical rol in the definition and execution toward their strategic objectives through the effective management of key resources and innovation initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Play a leading rol in shifting the business’ footprint ‘downstream’. Working with their Marketing team to assign resources to explore and deliver new technologies and assess potential M&A opportunities
  • Develop and commercialize new products and applications outside the current business boundaries through the identification of emerging technologies and new market opportunities
  • Defend and extend the current PU business segments through the development of new products and/or enhanced technologies
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement and strategic harmonization between the technology and innovation and commercial teams to ensure R&D and Commercial strategies are best aligned and to maximize commercial value for the business
  • Inspire and empower the regional Technical team to perform to their highest potential in line with the agile performance development culture
  • Act as a key player of the Global Technology & Innovation leadership team to establish and develop platforms and models for global innovation and technical activities

Key Candidate Requirements:

  • PhD (preferred) in Polymer Science or Engineering Plastics with a strong knowledge of Specialty Polymer base applications and markets
  • Previous experience with Polymers (preferably Polyurethanes), engineering plastics or relevant application and technology is required
  • Excellent leadership skills and a demonstratable track record of driving and delivering change
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to inspire and motivate regional teams whilst as part of a global Technology & Innovation Leadership Team
  • Extensive background in IP strategy and the development of patents. Previous experience in leading product commercialization strategies within a highly competitive market is also essential

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity at our Linde Gas Benelux office in Schiedam, for an experienced Dutch speaking Company Lawyerwho thrives on working on challenging legal issues where the nature of the business requires a flexible legal professional who acts proactively and understands the tension between the commercial wishes of the operational managers and the legal feasibility.

In this role you act as a professional legal sounding board for the whole Benelux organization, including the management board and the diverse business units, such as Sales & Marketing, Procurement, On-Site/tonnage business and Healthcare by providing the company with strategic and general legal input and pragmatic, commercially sound and proactive legal solutions. In your daily activities you report to the Head of Legal Region Europe South (“RES“) & EMEA Hub Legal On-Site RES and be part of the global Group Legal & Compliance team.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Advising on Dutch and Belgium contract law; drafting, reviewing and validating all commercial and operational agreements, including costumer contracts, rental agreements, purchase contracts and general terms and conditions;

Advising on Dutch and Belgium corporate law and corporate housekeeping matterse.g. shareholder’s resolutions, powers of attorney, supervisory board meetings, maintaining articles of association), privacy & data protection and compliance.
• Participating in negotiations and periodic consultation with large clients with complex contractual situations in order to provide legal financial details with regard to these contracts and their mutual cohesion.

Implementing and monitoring internal (legal) processes;

An important task of the Company Lawyer is identifying, describing, estimating and  managing legal risks affecting the business. . It is important that the the Company Lawyer manages to find a balance in limiting the risks, in such a way that the commercial aspects are honored as much as possible.

Work area covers contracts for the Netherlands and Belgium in the field of technical / industrial gases, medical gases and food in various forms:
• On-Site/tonnage (gaseous products supplied via onsite installations and / or pipeline network)
• bulk (deliveries of gas in liquid form with lorries and storage tanks)
• packaged gases and products (gases in cylinders)
• Cryo services (specific cold applications with liquid gas)

Profile

  • Master Dutch Law or international contract law;
  • Knowledge of Belgium law;
  • About […] years of experience in contract law, preferably as company lawyer at an international organization;
  • Affinity with technical aspects, especially with regard to production and distribution
  • Willingness to travel occasionally;
  • A self-starter who can work independently and at the same time is a valued team player with the ability to install confidence in colleagues and management
  • Strong analytic and communication skills in Dutch and English (verbal and written).

Salary:

€ 85.000 – € 95.000 + excellent secundairy conditions

Regional Platform Manager – Linde Gas – IJmuiden – INGEVULD

Rol:

De Regional Platform Manager is voor de regio (Benelux, Frankrijk, Spanje, Portugal en Algerije) verantwoordelijk om samen met een team van 20 specialisten (engineers en projectmanagers)  sturing en ondersteuning te bieden bij complexe onderhoudsprocessen en turnarounds. Dit doen zij voor de tonnage business line van Linde, waar grote bulkprocessen (vaak gesitueerd on site bij een client) de opdrachtgever voorzien van grote hoeveelheden genodigde (industriële) gassen.

Profiel:

Bachelor/Master in technische richting. Relevante ervaring in de aansturing van een team van professionals in engineering, projectmanagement en onderhoud binnen de petrochemie of process industrie. Inspirerende leider, in staat processen goed op de rit te zetten en te houden. Sparringpartner voor lokaal en internationaal management, helder in zijn communicatie. Bij voorkeur ervaring in sturen van meerdere processen op meerdere locaties tegelijkertijd.

Voorwaarden:

De hoofddoelstelling voor de Strategic Lead Buyer is het reduceren van de productiekosten binnen de productie-sites van Linde. Daarbij ligt de focus op de kosten van bouw en onderhoud van de sites. Hij/zij leidt en voert internationale inkoop projecten aan in nauwe samenwerking met verschillende afdelingen binnen EMEA, de afdeling global procurement en de afdelingen tactische inkoop in de verschillende landen. Identificeert en ontwikkelt pro-actief initiatieven en producten om tot structurele kostenverlaging te komen. Onderhoudt leveranciers en complexe contracten. Zorgt voor inzicht in data. Is nauw betrokken/leidend bij contracten rondom grote turnarounds en projecten.

Profiel:

Succesvol gebleken in netwerkrol in internationale omgeving. Ervaring in sr. procurement posities op het gebied van plant maintenance of projecten. Zelfstartend, zelfstandig, ondernemend, autonoom, sensitief. Reisbereid.
