LBC Tank Terminals, with its headquarter in Belgium, is an independent operator of midstream and downstream bulk liquid storage facilities for chemicals, oils and refined petroleum products currently owning and operating a global network of terminals with a combined storage capacity of 3 million m3.

Purpose of the function:

Develop the scope, optimize the solution and provide technical and project management support to roll-out our Rotterdam capex program. This includes technical advice, feasibility studies, cost estimates, project preparation & construction management for new and existing infrastructure and major expansions.

  • Provide technical advice, scoping and cost estimates for various multidisciplinary capex projects.
  • Provide project engineering and management support for capex projects. This includes conceptual design work, cost calculations, permit application support, tendering and on-site construction management. Establish and track project costs and schedules.
  • Support the marketing department with customer inquiries including MOC reviews, project cost estimates and capex justifications.
  • Provide periodic activity updates to the Assets & Engineering Director Europe, steering committees and the local team.
  • Assist in annual capital and the long-term investment plan. Conduct operational efficiency studies for purpose of cost savings, safety and regulatory regulations.



  • Master Engineering (Electromechanical is preferred) with min. 5 years of experience on a terminal
  • Project management experience in terminal or related industry

Project Manager Tanks

Zorgt ervoor dat de projecten probleemloos verlopen. Projecten worden in nauwe samenwerking met de Programma Manager Tanks en Technical Manager uitgevoerd en blijven binnen scope & budget en qua timing alles veilig en op tijd afrondend. Herkent projectrisico’s, en mitigeert deze pro actief om tot een vlekkeloze projectuitvoering te komen. Samen met de Programma Manager Tanks zorgend voor duidelijke en tijdige communicatie naar de diverse stakeholders.  Zorgt voor:

  • Verantwoordelijk voor effectieve en efficiënte engineering, uitvoering en operationele overdracht van tank onderhoudsprojecten volgens de Vopak Project Management (VPM) standaarden, inclusief gate-reviews, risicomitigatie en oplevering van alle project documenten volgens de toepasselijke codes, normen en standaarden. Dit in nauwe samenwerking met de Constructie Manager, Project Engineers en Field Supervisors;
  • Verantwoordelijk voor en borging van de prestaties op het gebied van gezondheid, veiligheid, milieu en kwaliteit binnen de tank onderhoudsprojecten en is een actieve promotor van verbeteringen in SHE-prestaties binnen de projecten en binnen Vopak;
  • Beheer van de relatie met de hoofdaannemers met betrekking tot tank onderhoudsprojecten;
  • Projectrapportages aanleveren en stakeholders proactief informeren over veiligheid, voortgang, budget, kwaliteit, omvang en projectrisico’s;
  • Verantwoordelijk voor het leiden van het management of change proces en projectevaluaties;

Profiel Project Manager Tanks

Samenwerken is essentieel. Veiligheid binnen projecten, zowel in theoretische zin als tijdens het uitvoeren van de projecten is essentieel. Touwtjes strak in handen, en exact wetend wanneer deadlines zijn en of het project binnen planning en budget loopt.

  • Afgeronde HBO opleiding in Mechanical Engineering, aangevuld met minimaal 5 jaar werkervaring met onderhoudsprojecten voor tanks

  • Kennis van EEMUA publ. 159 en/of API 653

  • Aantoonbare ervaring met het aansturen van een team van professionals en het managen van een portfolio aan projecten

  • Uitstekende kennis van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal in woord & geschrift

Our client Vopak has set ambitious growth objectives. Much of this growth will require large modifications and expansions of their terminals. Their projects are tasked to deliver functionality that allows sales to capture the most attractive parts of the market and that allows operations to service that efficiently.

Your main missions

  • You are responsible for the definition and execution of the prospects/projects assigned to you covering all aspects on safety, budget, schedule and scope.

  • Set up and manage all project activities to result in safe delivery of the scope.
